AVG Anti-virus (Free version)
AVG is an Anti-virus program and will protect you against virus's for free. In the free version you also get a selection of other free services for you included, but you will get far more if you decide to get the subscription service. This doesn't mean AVG doesn't look after its free customers like other online services however. I have been using the free version of AVG for 6 years and still extremely pleased with their program.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (Free version)
In combination with the free version of AVG I always have a back-up solution, Malwarebytes gave me just that. No Anti-virus paid or not can protect you 100% of the time, they need to detect the virus first using their techniques. So if you ever get unlucky to fall into the very small bracket of getting hit by a new virus, or a virus/bug has managed to bypass the Anti-virus program, Malwarebytes can pull you out of the dark! Thanks to this program, where either the Anti-virus was prevented from opening or a bug has got past, Mawarebytes will find it and nuke it.
